Sophia Loren; Sofia Villani Scicolone, born on September 20, 1934, is an Italian actress and singer. Encouraged to enroll in acting classes after participating in a beauty contest, Loren began her film career in 1950 at the age of 15. He appeared in different parts and minor roles in the first part of the decade, until his five-movie contract with Paramount in 1956 launched his international career. Notable film appearances in this period include The Pride and the Passion, Houseboat and It Started in Naples.
