North America is home to over 300 Asian elephants and Shirley, 52, is one of them. A man named Solomon James takes care of her. He did his best to make Shirley feel comfortable at the Louisiana Purchase Zoo. For 22 years, this great elephant lived on the same patch of grass and concrete pole. The poor girl hasn't seen another elephant in the last two decades. So, her faithful carer, Solomon, stays with her so that she knows she is not alone and that she will never be alone.
